Privacy Policy

Template for Phase 1 — must be reviewed by an attorney before public launch.

Placeholder notice. This draft describes how the platform actually handles data today. It is not legal advice. California businesses collecting personal information should have counsel confirm CCPA/CPRA obligations before launch.

What we collect

  • Account information: name, company, email, phone, ZIP code and the type of pool professional you are.
  • Profile information you choose to add: business description, website, service area, license or certification details, logo.
  • Listings and messages you post or send through the site.
  • Basic technical data: IP address and browser information, used for security, spam prevention and aggregate analytics.

What we show publicly

Your name or company name, your general location (city and ZIP only — never a street address), your profile details, and your listings. Your email address and phone number are never published. Other members contact you through the on-site messaging system.

How we use it

To run the marketplace: showing listings near you, calculating approximate distances from ZIP code centroids, delivering messages, preventing spam and fraud, and understanding aggregate marketplace activity. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party advertising trackers.

Retention

Completed listings are retained, including product, model, part number, asking price, optional final price, general location, condition and dates. This builds anonymous pricing history for the industry. Members can request deletion of their account and personal information at any time.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your listings, update your profile, unsubscribe from emails, or ask us to delete your account entirely. Contact us and we will handle it.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. The site runs over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
